Katy was honored last night at the Trevor Live event for her work in empowering youth groups and she looked stunning. The CEO said of Katy:
“A couple years ago when, unfortunately, a lot of young suicides made the news … and there was a very visible presence of suicide, Katy stepped up and was out there in the community, speaking against it.
“Her support of marriage equality — and equality for everyone, really — is one of the many reasons we’re supporting her as our hero this year. Her song Firework is all about empowering youth to just be who they are, and that’s what we try to do is make sure that when a young person reaches out to us. We are there to say, ‘The way you are is perfect. Just be the way you are.’”

Katy Perry: I Feel Fat Without Spanx!
Katy Perry has been called “The First Lady of Hot” by Maxim, but she doesn’t always feel worthy of the title.
Us Weekly caught up with the “Part of Me” singer at the Nov. 28 UNICEF Snowflake Ball in New York City, where she and other celebs including Selena Gomez, Uma Thurman, Tony Bennett and Kelly Ripa walked the blue carpet and helped raise money for UNICEF’S lifesaving children’s programs.
The pop star, 28, was stunning in a tight, floor-length, semi-sheer navy Naeem Khan dress with a matching cape, Guiseppi Zanotti heels, a Judith Leiber clutch, and Lorraine Schwartz jewels — but she admitted she didn’t feel as good as others thought she looked.
“I feel like my [fat] is sticking out so bad right now,” she confided in Us at the bash. “I almost always wear [Spanx], but not tonight, and I feel it pushing out, making me look fat.”
“I like to say I run on the elliptical for 30 minutes watching CNN, but I don’t do it often enough,” she added. “So I’m just like, ‘Oh, I guess I’m not fitting into this Lanvin dress for these couple of months.’”
Perry may not always love her curves, but plenty of other people do — including on-again boyfriend John Mayer, who recently accompanied the singer on a romantic tour of the Old Mission in her hometown of Santa Barbara, Calif. The two have also been spotted packing on the PDA at several Hollywood hot spots.
“They were in their own world,” a guest at Perry’s October birthday bash told Us of the couple, who reunited in September after briefly separating in August. “She didn’t even talk to her friends much. It was just her and John. She’s obsessed with him.”

Katy Perry Set for Free Obama Concert in Milwaukee
Katy Perry will perform her third concert for Barack Obama’s reelection campaign at a grassroots rally with the president on Saturday in Milwaukee.
Perry has become Obama’s most popular entertainer with young voters this election season. More than 13,000 people lined up to hear the singer at an Obama rally on Oct. 24 in Las Vegas, where Perry wore a white latex dress printed with an image of a giant ballot.
At a fundraiser concert in Los Angeles, Perry’s fans took to Twitter with photos of the pop star singing in a Statue of Liberty outfit and a stars and stripes cape. She tweeted: “I sang for President @BarackObama last night because I believe in Equal Rights #ForAll #Vote.”
With the campaign in its final days, Obama is calling on his celebrity supporters to help get out the vote. Eva Longoria is scheduled to appear alongside the president in Las Vegas today, while the first lady is campaigning in Florida at events featuring Stevie Wonder and Marc Anthony. On Saturday evening, Obama will join former President Bill Clinton and singer Dave Matthews for at a grassroots event in Bristow, Virginia.
The Las Vegas Sun noted Thursday that in the past two weeks Perry, Longoria, Magic Johnson, Jon Hamm, Kelsey Grammer, Jon Voight, John Ratzenberger, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms and others “have all graced the Silver State to stump for Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.”
“Presidential candidates are soooo pedestrian,” according to the Sun. “Or at least it seems that way, given how the parties have been amping up their Nevada campaign events with stars that may count as more A-list than the potential leader of the free world.”

On her career: “I love what I do, and when I don’t love what I do, I’ll make a change…I can’t be the candy queen forever.”
On being a role model: “I have no regrets…I’m not going to be everything to everyone. I can’t tell a person when it’s time for them to have sex. Or if they should have a cigarette…But I try to live my life with a lot of integrity, and, hopefully, that sends a message.”
On relationships and marriage: “I obviously have a lot to say right now…I’m a woman who likes to be courted–strongly. Never say never, I guess you’d say. I’ll let love take the lead on that.”

Katy Perry: How I Stay Slim on the Road
Being on tour can take a toll on the body, but Katy Perry knows how to stay healthy even without lots of rest.
“When I was on the road, I liked to have a light soup, a piece of grilled chicken and some quinoa with grilled asparagus for dinner,” the “Teenage Dream” singer, 27, tells PEOPLE. “I always need my daily vitamins and I loved fresh-pressed juices and coconut water. I also love snacks, but pick healthier options like veggies and hummus, tangerines or Popchips.”
Speaking of Popchips, Perry has just been named the spokesperson for the healthy snack, shortly after she Tweeted about the product and was approached by the brand.
“They taste great and don’t make me feel guilty about them afterwards,” she says, adding that BBQ is her favorite flavor.
“Eating healthy is so important because I can’t afford to get sick,” Perry says. “When I was on the road, it was very important to eat a balanced meal and to make sure my energy was up for every two-hour show.”
Aside from eating right, the pop star says she feels the best about her body when she gets into “a routine of waking up early, starting my day with a workout, meditating and getting fresh air.”
As for those workouts, Perry doesn’t hit the gym.
“I love being outdoors,” she says. “I prefer to go on hikes or ride my bike.”

Katy Perry, Russell Brand’s Divorce Finalized
Katy Perry and Russell Brand are now officially divorced.
Despite the couple’s divorce request being granted in February, their union was only officially dissolved Monday, E! News confirmed. According to California law, a divorce cannot be finalized until after a minimum of six months has passed.
Perry, 27, and Brand, 37, married on Oct. 23, 2010 in a traditional Indian ceremony. The British comic surprised the “Wide Awake” singer by filing for divorce on Dec. 30 after 14 months of marriage.
In Perry’s new documentary, Katy Perry: Part Of Me, she admitted: “Being in love is a dream, but the reality is not like the movies. There’s a lot more compromise and sacrifice.”
Fighting exhaustion, the “Part of Me” singer would fly to wherever Brand was working to spend a couple days with him. She told the camera, “I’m trying to keep my marriage alive.” After he filed for divorce, a visibly upset Perry said, “The truth is I’m a romantic and I believed in the fairy tale. . .I did everything I could but it still failed,” she said. “The dream of being in love is a lot different than the reality of making it work.”
And the former couple also had disagreements over starting a family. During another backstage scene in Perry’s documentary, Brand texts her a picture of McDonald’s and jokes they should name their child “Ronald.”
Perry admitted, “A baby can’t have a baby — and I’m still a baby.”
But Brand felt differently. A source told Us Weekly, “[Russell] feels there’s no point in being married if you don’t have kids.”
In May, Brand told Ellen DeGeneres, “I still love her as a human being. But, sometimes when you’re in a relationship I suppose it doesn’t work out, does it? But that doesn’t mean I regret it or anything.”
